2017 Annual Report

Movie "Night"

Sunday, November 18
11:45 am

The Mission Team is hosting our next movie night after worship on Sunday, November 18. We will be watching, “In the Defense of Food” based on Michael Pollan's book and which aired on PBS. This film focuses on “ways to reverse the damage to people’s health resulting from today’s ‘industrially driven’ diet.” According to Pollan, these health changes occur because the majority of people eat a “Western diet” heavy in meat, white flour, vegetable oils and sugar, and, as a result, consume very little fruit, vegetables and whole grains. Pollan maintains people can live healthfully by following his seven-word motto: “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.” Please join us! Snacks will be provided.

Advent Workshop

This year we have an exciting community art project to draw us into our advent themes of hope and new creation. This is designed for the whole church family to participate. Bring a dish to share as we’ll begin with lunch together and then get prepared for advent in our homes and in Sunday worship.
